Henry G. Cisneros, former mayor of San Antonio and secretary of Housing and Urban Development under President Clinton, was interviewed in San Antonio's historic San Fernando Cathedral by Lance Eakwright in Dec. 2019. Cisneros was the first Tejano mayor of San Antonio since Juan Seguin.

He explains how sixteen families came from the Canary Islands in 1730 at the behest of King Philip V of Spain to found a civil government, how the Tejanos and settlers moved toward revolution against Spain and then Mexico, and how the Canary Islanders adapted to Texas.
